DescriptionThe white facade of a Spanish Colonial church stands in contrast to the inky purple shadows that fall on the church's walls and across the open plaza. The sky above is also modeled in a lighter shade of purple. The composition is spare and complemented by the dark approaching figures, a suggestion of green on the left, the pattern of the windows on the building, and the glow of light from the entryway.
