DescriptionThe new church of San Gerónimo, located to the south and east, fronts the plaza that lies to the south of North House (Hlauuma). Knee's photograph is dated 1941, the same year listed for the photograph of the church by Knee (Mudding the Church), in which the niche above the entrance and below the bell opening is partially visible, as it is in the photograph of the same view taken by Ansel Adams and dated 1942. The absence of the niche feature on the facade in this photgraph by Knee indicaes an earlier date if the niche was added to the facade as it appears in a photograph in the Museum of New Mexico archives dated to c.1885.
