DescriptionCarved of a single piece, the abstracted and geometrical form of a man isin the simple frontal posture of devotion. The head is segmented toward the top, and the features, carved in deep relief are a play of continuous elliptical line; the cheeks are notched. The body of the figure is rounded and elevated at the sides. The effect from the front is that of a man with arms and hands raised in a gesture of prayer. The back is smooth without carved elements. The top of the head is notched for use as a candleholder.
