DescriptionThree horses with riders cross a stream mid ground. The image is dark toned except for the stream and an opening in the background. The riders are slumped forward as through tired. It appears to be getting dark. The mood in the print is expressive and the technique bold with deep cuts in the wood. It is a modernist work, reminiscent of Thomas Hart Benton.
