DescriptionThe multistoried adobe structure at Taos Pueblo dominates the background of the print. In the foreground, pueblo inhabitants go about their daily chores. A woman on the right carries her buckets to gather water at the stream. Behind her a family is gathered to start a fire in the horno, an outdoor baking oven. Two women chat in the left foreground. All are traditionally dressed. The mountain looms behind the scene, expertly rendered with precise incised deep cuts.
