DescriptionTechnically innovative for his time and adept this view depicts the rugged outline of the high Rocky Mountains mid center. Light clouds frame the mountains. The river below, surrounded along its edge by tall Ponderosa Pines, curves toward the left of the lithograph. The mountains are dark, imposing. The riverbank is light providing strong contrast.
