DescriptionSteeply pitched mountains dominate the mid section of the lithograph. They are deep black with contrasting white as in a block print. The sky above is filled with puffy cumulus clouds showering rain depicted as steady fine and curved lines. The sky is multi-toned in contrast to the mountains. The foreground is dotted with shrubs and light in tone. While dramatic, the scene is neither foreboding nor ominous. The rain is gentle. It is produced in a modernist motif. The bold outlining is unusual for Helen G. Blumenschein.
