BiographyZara Kriegstein (1952 - 2009) was active/lived in New Mexico. Zara Kriegstein is known for Figure and genre easel painting, history themed murals.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper, Kriegstein was born in Berlin on July 28, 1952. She studied art in Germany and in 1973 moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where she became known for her murals. One of her better-known murals is the four-part piece depicting the history of the Santa Fe judiciary on the interior of the Santa Fe Municipal Court building on Camino Entrada.

She died in August 2009.
