BiographyPainter. Born in Hallsville, IL on March 26, 1900. Hunter studied at the Denver Academy of Art, AIC, MiIIikin University (IL), and with Stanton MacDonald-Wright. He taught at Otis Art Institute from 1923-27 and was active in Los Angeles until 1930 when he moved to New Mexico. During the 1930s he was active with the Federal Art Project and later served as director of the Roswell Art Museum, a position he held until his death on March 20, 1955.
