Albert Winslow Barker

United States, 1874 - 1947
BiographyAlbert Winslow Barker received his formal art training at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. After more than a decade of teaching art in Philadelphia, he determined to acquire an academic education and ended up with a Doctorate in classical archeology from the University of Pennsylvania. Albert Barker's gentle images of country scenes constitute a study of the subtle gradations of tones in greys (sic) and silvers which are possible through the lithographic medium. Albert Barker's lithographs are in the major American museums and many abroad. (Information copied from archival content)
