Agnes Martin

Agnes Martin was interested in representing the inner mind where beauty and perfection or nature are recognized. Her work uses dew colors and puts an emphasis on correct proportions and the use of lines and grids. Martin recognized that different people would see different colors in her work as well as the fact that different lighting and the time of day would affect the emotion the artwork would evoke in people. These subtle differences are a part of her art and how she wants to connect others to the inner mind.
